Our son has been receiving tuition from Lisa for a year now and we have been so impressed with his progress. He has recently exceeded his predicted grade for English literature in his mock exams. This is thanks to how invested Lisa has been in helping fill the gaps in his knowledge and building his confidence. Even though the sessions are in a group it feels like your child receives one to one attention as we get feedback after each session. In addition to this Lisa is always happy to answer any queries from either ourselves or our son. This is the third of our children to go through GCSE’s, all receiving tuition at some point through their studies and I can honestly say Lisa is the best tutor we’ve had.

I have found my one to one sessions with Lisa extremely useful. She has helped me feel fully prepared for my GCSEs and I am now much more confident than I was when I first started with Lisa.

I would highly recommend Lisa if you’re looking for a tutor for a child of secondary school age. We used Lisa across the summer to help support our son who is on the ASD spectrum with maintaining a link with his studies.
Lisa quickly built a rapport with our son and provided lessons of varying content based on his school report and that content was both engaging and sparked his interest.
Lisa is very personable with her tutee - our son told us he hugely enjoyed his time with her - and I am certain we will use her again.

Both of my children have a weekly English lesson with Lisa. Their progress has been incredible, not only have they exceeded their grade expectations at school they are doing better across all subjects where written language features. My daughter really lacked in confidence when she first started the sessions and she kept asking to quit, but Lisa put her at ease and altered how she taught her. This addressed the issue and her confidence has grown tenfold. Investing in Lisa expertises is a huge investment in your child’s future in my opinion.

Lisa has been having weekly sessions with my daughter ( who said she needed extra support)since the start of the school year. Although it’s only been a few months the difference in my daughter’s confidence has been fantastic to watch. I get a weekly update from Lisa too which helps to me involved in areas of focus. I have a son in the year below and I only hope she has the availability to help him should he need it.

I approached Lisa to provide tuition for my son who was really struggling with his English work. His confidence was extremely low in this subject and I was afraid he would begin to disengage with his lessons altogether.
He has now had tuition with Lisa for around five months and the change in him is phenomenal. Both his confidence and knowledge around the subject have grown and he is enjoying English as a whole, for the first time in forever!!
From the beginning Lisa took the time to listen to my concerns and where I thought my son needed support. She quickly got to know him and began to really understood him and his learning style, and adapted her lessons to suit.
Lisa has an excellent rapport with my son and she really puts him at ease week in, week out.
My son states he is now happy to answer questions in class and “have a go” at a task when previously he would have sat back and panicked.
Lisa has really brought the best out of him and has been able to make him see that he is knowledgeable in this area, he does know and understand things and he can do well - it is lovely to see him clearly proud of himself when he has successfully completed a task!
Lisa researched my son’s English topics in school and linked her lessons to this also, meaning his confidence was increased further as his learning was current and relevant to what he was focusing on in school - a great bonus in my eyes!
Each week I receive feedback from Lisa on how the lesson has gone, what has been covered and any issues etc. which is always valuable.
We will most certainly be continuing with Lisa’s tuition, probably right through to year 11, and I could not recommend her enough - she has made my son grow from someone who thought he was “stupid”, into a confident young man who can now recognise his own potential.

My son did not do very well in his first mock exams for English literature, after only 2 lessons with Lisa he had another mock, I am so thankful he did after the situation what then occurred with Covid-19, he came out with grade 6 GCSE. If he had of continued with his lessons and sat the exam I’m certain he would of gained an even higher grade. Thank you so much Lisa.

Lisa did some coaching sessions with my daughter during lockdown. She massively improved her confidence in English and has a lovely way of interacting with her to get her talking. I can highly recommend Lisa, her years of experience as a teacher really show.
